What is a Purchase Requisition (PR)?
A Purchase Requisition (PR) is an internal document created by an employee to request the purchase of products or services when stock levels reach a predefined low threshold. This process helps organizations manage inventory effectively and ensures that necessary items are ordered in a timely manner.
Key Features of Purchase Requisitions:
- Automated Alerts: Only products that fall below the alert quantity will be displayed when creating a purchase requisition, ensuring that only necessary items are requested.
- Internal Approval Process: PRs typically require approval from a manager or designated authority before any purchases can be made, helping to control spending and ensure budget compliance.
Enabling Purchase Requisition in Zuriey POS
To utilize the purchase requisition feature in Zuriey POS, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings:
- Navigate to Settings -> Business Settings -> Purchase.
- Enable Purchase Requisition:
- Check the box for “Enable Purchase Requisition.”
- Once enabled, the purchase requisition tab will appear in the sidebar.
- Adding a Purchase Requisition:
- Click on the Add button to create a new purchase requisition.
- Provide the required details such as product names, quantities, and any additional notes.
Converting Purchase Requisition to Purchase Order
Once a purchase requisition is created, it can be converted into a purchase order (PO). Here’s how:
- Navigate to Purchase Orders:
- Go to Purchase Order -> Add. (Purchase Order Documetation )
- Select Supplier:
- When selecting the corresponding supplier, the PR ID associated with that supplier will be displayed.
- Choose PR ID:
- Select the required PR ID to convert it into a purchase order.
Partial Purchases
- If the ordered quantity specified in the PR is reduced during conversion into a purchase order, the status will automatically change from "Ordered" to "Partial."
