Using Commission Agent feature

Commission Agent Management in Zuriey POS
The Commission Agent feature is beneficial for businesses that compensate sales agents or commission agents for each sale they generate.
Enabling & Choosing Commission Agent Type
By default, the Commission Agent feature is disabled. To enable it, navigate to Settings -> Business Settings -> Sales and select the Sales Commission Agent drop-down menu. You will find three options:
- Logged in User: This option automatically designates the logged-in user as the commission agent for any sales they add. In other words, the user who records the sale will earn the commission.
- Select from User’s List: When enabled, this option allows users to choose a commission agent from a list of users within your business when making sales in the POS and sales screens.
- Select from Commission Agent List: This option displays a list of designated Sales Commission Agents in your business for selection during sales transactions.
Choose the option that best fits your business needs.
Adding Commission Percentage
You can set the commission percentage when adding or editing a user or a Sales Commission Agent.
Commission Calculation Type
Commissions can be calculated using one of two methods:
- Invoice Value: Commissions are based on the total invoice amount generated by the agent. For example, if an agent's total monthly invoice amount is GHS 5,000 and their commission rate is 10%, they will earn GHS 500 in commission.
- Payment Received: Commissions are calculated based on actual payments received. For instance, if an agent's monthly invoice amount is GHS 5,000 with a 10% commission rate, but only GHS 2,000 is collected that month, the agent will receive GHS 200 in commission. If the remaining GHS 3,000 is received in the following month, an additional $300 will be paid as commission.
Calculating Commission Amount
To view the commission amounts, go to Reports -> Sales Representative Report. Select the user for whom you want to see the commission details. This report provides a summary of Total Sales, Total Sale Commission, and Total Expenses, along with a table listing all transactions.Note: Sales commissions are calculated excluding shipping and tax; they are based solely on item sales and do not include overhead costs such as taxes or shipping fees.
Commission Payment
Once you have determined the commission amount, Zuriey POS offers two methods for making payment:
- Using Expense: Calculate the commission from the Sales Representative Report. After paying the amount, record it as an expense through the Add Expense menu. In this menu, select the relevant Expense-For dropdown.
- Using HRM Module: If you use the HRM module, commissions can be automatically included when creating payroll for a user. The sales commission will appear as part of Payroll Components, making it easier for business owners to manage payments efficiently.
By utilizing these features in Zuriey POS, you can effectively manage your commission agents and streamline your payment processes.
